Q1. What if I am not well-versed in design and decor? During the renovations, would I need to supervise the electricians and plasterers myself? I might not have the time to do that.
We’re a one-stop, full-service Interior Design studio, so rest assure that we’ll be working very closely with our vendors. A key project manager will supervise your home (“the site”) to ensure quality workmanship. Our site supervisor also ensures each project will be completed within the stipulated timeline. Photos will also be taken as our update to your end, so all you need to do is to entrust us with the key to beautify your home!
Q2. If I want to renovate an old home, must I go for exterior renovations as well?
Our full-suite agency does provide both exterior (building, landscaping, etc.) and interior design services. It will be best for our team to first visit your site to better propose a revamp that will cater to your tastes and complement the inner aesthetics of your home.
Q3. What is the pricing for the services offered by Design Something studio?
As a guide, we will first provide you with the basic rate for our services and a quotation based on a 2D rendered layout of the design. This will be a 2D design that is based on your space. Based on your preference and the agreed-upon look- additional items such as furnishings and the types of materials chosen will determine any additional charges going forward.
Q4. I have a concern that the outcome will look different than the drawings. It may not be the design I've initially envisioned.
Not to worry! Homeowners who have confirmed the aesthetics based on the initial 2D layout would be presented with a 3D rendering of their space’s layout as well. This 3D rendering will enable you to better imagine and “see” how your future home will look like. Weekly photo updates from us will also keep you consistently updated on your home’s progress. Q5. I am someone with many personal belongings that I would like to keep in my home for the long-term.
No issue right there, a lot of homeowners have a lot of “stuff” that they want to store in their homes. For this, we usually design custom-made spaces according to the layout of your home for your storage purposes. These spaces could be well-hidden or rather “camouflaged” cabinets, drawers and closets that are attached to the walls and often well-masked behind coordinated mirrors, colours and textures that suit the room.
Q6. I really can't seem to find a sofa and dining table I like for the furnishings of my home here in Penang. How can Design Something help?
We also offer fully-customised carpentry, wood-working and furniture-modelling services. Thus, we’re able to customise unique furniture pieces to your tastes and preferred design, to further complement your home’s interiors. We’ve customised sofas, beds, chairs and dining table sets that are measured accordingly to owner’s heights as well, and according to their preferred material options!
